Creative and performing arts

There is something for everyone at Glendore. The diverse expertise, talents and interests of our staff enable us to offer an exceptional range of creative opportunities for students to discover their strengths, develop new skills and build confidence.

Students can participate in choirs, dance, drama, musical theatre, the Junior Theatre Festival, visual arts, exhibitions, performances and concerts — with opportunities for every student to participate, create, perform and shine.

Learning beyond the classroom

Learning at Glendore extends beyond the school gates. Our students take part in excursions, day trips and overnight camps that bring classroom learning to life and connect them with new places, experiences and opportunities.

From local and regional day trips to our Year 6 Canberra camp, these experiences deepen learning, build independence and confidence, and create lasting memories.

Sport and physical activity

Glendore has a proud culture of participation and sporting achievement, with opportunities for students to develop their skills and compete at school, zone, regional, state and national levels.

Students can participate in PSSA competitions, gala days, knockout sports, Run Club and a range of school-based sporting activities and partnerships. Our highly successful School Aerobics program is a particular highlight, with Glendore teams qualifying to represent our school at the National Championships on the Gold Coast for three consecutive years.

Public speaking and communication

Our public speaking opportunities help students find their voice and develop confidence, critical thinking and effective communication skills. Through classroom experiences, school events and opportunities to compete at local and state levels, students learn to organise their ideas, speak with purpose and confidently communicate with a range of audiences.
